DJ's back yard is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat. This small wild kindgom provides plentiful plantlife and other food, shelter and water for well over a dozen different kinds of regularly visiting birds, including hummingbirds and a Cooper's Hawk, along with a squirrel family or two, a handful of chipmunks, at least one cottontail, Virginia's state insect the Tiger Swallowtail butterfly and other fluttering beauties, and a couple of nighttime sightings of 'possums and 'coons.
