- Hand-covered hardback 'threads of life' journals with spines of woven-in knotted fibers and beads and one-of-a-kind binding/cover designs of quality handmade and other decorative papers accented with jewels, metals and other gems.
- Journals using a great variety of other binding methods, sizes, cover and text-page papers, etc. Many of these include individually hand-torn text pages and feature Coptic stitch, Japanese stab-stitch, and other hand-stitch methods/styles in various design.
